Happy Friday lovely friends! The weekend is finally here, we made it!
You guys, it’s been 10 days since the hubs and I moved to our new house. I know, it’s such a short period of time but If you ask me, it really feels like my whole world has changed so much. As a first time homeowner, I have to say that so far it’s been both wonderful and at times a bit challenging, too. On the one hand, I’m so proud to finally have a place I can truly call my own. I can’t really explain why that makes me so proud and happy. I guess part of it is that I finally feel like I’m growing up and headed in the right direction, you know?
On the other hand, my commute to work has actually doubled…. almost tripled depending on the traffic. I’m driving about 60 miles a day (it used to be 18 miles before) so it’s definitely been quite the adjustment. We’re about 70 percent done with the unpacking so we still have to finish that. Since our place is new construction, they’re some things that haven’t been quite set up yet like our internet and TV cables. It feels weird, to say the very least, not being able to have access to internet at the house. You see, I’m one of those people who’s used to waking up to the Today Show and going to bed to Nightly News with Lester Holt. Being a Political Science alumni, I also am used to keeping up with current evens. Believe me when I tell you that, I feel like I’ve been living under a rock lately… it’s like I’ve been forced into taking a social media/internet detox!
Despite the adaptations and challenges, my heart can’t help but feel that all of it is worth it, though. Coming home from work has never felt so good. I also have been extra productive with the unpacking at the house, so I guess my forced internet detox hasn’t been so terrible after all. Haha.
While time feels like it’s been flying, I definitely love the fact that we’re in December! The most wonderful time of the year has finally arrived! It’s finally time to bring out the fancy outfits for the holiday parties with friends and at work.
Today I partnered with Daniel Wellington to bring you a holiday inspired look for both, him and her. That’s right you guys, I finally got the hubs to make an appearance here on the blog! [insert hands up, hallelujah! emoji here]
Every year, David and I get a handful of holiday party invitations and so putting these outfits together came a bit easy for the both of us. For me, keeping it elegant yet comfy is a must. All black everything is one of those effortless looks that will make you look chic and timeless. My gorgeous watch is all black as well so it matches my outfit to perfection and I love it!
For David, it’s all about looking sharp! He chose this watch because of its simple and classy take. His outfit is definitely easy yet great look for the holidays. [Editor’s note: Make no misconceptions here, I only dress as well as I do because of my lovely wife’s input. I was rather adamant about the white-faced watch though. I already have a black one, why would I need two? What am I, royalty?!]
